Does God Not Exist? Arguments, Evidence, & Proof

God, as played by Morgan Freeman
As the world continues getting crazier and crazier, a lot of people find themselves asking, “Does God not exist?”
This post is going to review both sides of the argument, provide some supporting evidence of each, and ultimately look to some proof to be able to say for certain whether or not God exists.
The Atheist Argument
Atheists (i.e. people that do NOT believe in the existence of a God) argue that God does not exist for various reasons. Their main argument is often that IF there were such a thing as an all-powerful God, how could God allow all the shitty stuff to happen?
People dying of thirst, war, disease, terrorism, etc.
Atheists will also argue that there is no solid scientific evidence or proof of any type of all-powerful being. In the name of the scientific method, if something cannot be observed than it doesn’t exist.
Does God not exist? For Atheists, no, he/she/it doesn’t.
The Theist Argument
Theists (i.e. people that DO believe in the existence of a God) argue exactly the opposite.
They claim that God must exist, and use God to explain the things that we don’t necessarily understand like…
- How children are born
- How nature is so complex yet perfect
- How our bodies are so perfect, etc.
Those who believe in God attribute our very existence to the work of an all-knowing super being. Maybe the reason this argument has any merit is because science does not have any concrete answer for where the universe came from.
Either argument is feasible.
There is limited solid evidence that proves or disproves the existence of a God or Gods. So the only way we’ll know is by continuing to explore.
What do you think? Does God not exist, or does he?

“Maybe the reason this argument has any merit is because science does not have any concrete answer for where the universe came from.”
It doesnt, otherwise I could come up with any number of arguments, like everything formed from the juices of mating space unicorns could be the answer to the big questions. The answers are only feasible if there is evidence to support it and there is no evidence of any supernatural to even begin to suggest their is a god. There might be one but nothing provides any evidence of it.
While science fails to provide a concrete answer for where the universe comes from.. it does show time and time again that pattern and mathematical consistencies are a ‘natural’ component of existence as most of us perceive it. If you, for example, can explain why iron is the most prevalent known element in the universe… or some basic details on the DNA codon system.. then you should be able to easily digest my initial statement. The patterns which govern our reality may have come from some initial origin. After all, aren’t patterns and mathematics two of the most fundamental components of communication? So who exactly is communicating with whom when a firm relationship between gravity and mass was anciently determined? For that I, nor science for that matter, have a complete answer. Despite that lack of knowledge, and immense opposition, I think that it is not irrational to refer to whatever instilled the basic functionality of what we consider real as “intelligent”. In my opinion this “intelligence”, if anything, is god. My reasoning for this is because if it proves to be true that some sort of entity created gravity and mass.. or the electromagnetic spectrum… or DNA… or even has the ability to manipulate such laws of physics or biology… then surely it is of greater intelligence and importance than humanity. That is the only type of spiritual entity to whom I would ever pledge my loyalty.
SURE IT DOES!
It's our precious Sun.
Don't mind to thank me for the tip. It's free.
You can stop praying now and go to sleep. It will shine again in the morning. Even if you kill someone, it will not abandon or punish you.
well, i am a Christian, and i believe that God does exist…. if you pick up a bible and study it from beginning to end, you WILL find truth in it!
Science can not prove nor disprove the existence of god(s) (at least not at this juncture). Organized religon is more or less a story or fairytale if you will to prove somthing that simply cannot be proven, it is to explain the unexplainable through books and teachings it is really somthing that is made up in a way and not really factual at all it cannot prove a single statement of any text. God may exist or may not but i belive it is somthing that can only be proven by ourselfs through our own experiences.
I have to agree… Right or wrong though, religion has done a good job of teaching, organizing, and leading big masses of people – especially into believing that God exists without us having any concrete evidence or proof.
